Moving PSE window and it closes

I have Photoshop Elements 12 and recently I have experienced that when I go to move the window or open a file and try to move the image, or if I double click on the main work area without an image open the whole application will close on me without warning and sometimes without an error window popping up.  Has anyone else had this issue or currently having this issue?  Is there any way to fix this?  I tried uninstalling and then reinstalling PSE but that did not help.
