Multiple Editing in Raw

I use jpeg a;; othe time, but have just used RAW for once.  Could you tell me how to send a batch of pictures from Organizer to the Edit, instead of just one at a time.  Thanks.

You are right... I was convinced that my test batch of jpegs had not been opened in ACR before, but they had been already opened.

 

So, you can't decide (or you can no longer decide like in older PSE versions) how to open non-raw files from the organizer only: either opening in ACR or in the normal pixel editor. This decision would also imply updating the thumbnails accordingly. Remember that John R Ellis had offered a special app to allow the option to 'open in ACR' from the organizer.

Solving the above feature requests would allow using a true parametric editing workflow from the organizer like in LR.

 

Side note for using Bridge instead of the organizer.

 

As I have a subscription, starting from Bridge I can choose to open non raw files either in the pixel editor of PSE2022 or in the full ACR plugin, even without PS being installed.

I seem to remember that in older versions of Bridge, the choice was either to open in the limited ACR version of PSE or in the pixel editor  (PSE being a 'validating' software for the limited ACR edition). I can't test myself so I would be very interested to know how it works for PSE users without subscription.

If you have multiple files open in the ACR, you can select all of the thumbnails and click Open.  All of the files will then open in the Photoshop Editor and can then be saved as jpegs.  If you close the Editor with a number of files open in it, you will be asked seriatim whether you want to save each file.  If you answer yes, the Save File dialog will open and you can save each as a jpeg until all of the files have been saved.

Thank you all for the tips and that works - especially highlighting the thumbnails rather than closing each file individaully.

Select the photos in the grid and press Ctrl+I.  Thumbnails of your raw files will appear in the ACR and you can select multiple files to batch edit with the same ACR settings if you desire.

    Many thanks for that great tip, Greg!

    That was probably my biggest complaint about the organizer. My workaround until today was to systematically open the jpeg batch from the editor (open in ACR) and to apply a common setting such as 'Auto' before clicking 'Done'. That way, the jpegs automatically opened in ACR.

    That said, I wonder how anyone could find the shortcut without external help.

    So also thanks to @IAN JULIAN for asking the question.
