My dropdown menus all disappeared from Elements 9.

My drop-down menus have all disappeared from Elements 9.  I reinstalled the application but the problem persists.

    Neither Edit or Organizer shows menus.  There are gray boxes with no labels when I try to access the menus.  I am using Windows 10 and there was a recent update (2017-06 Security Update for Adobe Flash Player for Windows 10 Version 1703 for x64-based Systems (KB4022730)).  Would this have messed things up?
