Question

My PS Elements 2026 (26.3) has suddenly stopped loading.

When I attempt to open it, it seems to be starting but comes up to the loading bar across the opening screen, the icon within the loading bar spins for a couple of minutes and then just quits on the opening screen. This only started within the last week (June 15). I'm on Windows 11 Pro, latest upgrade as of June 9th.

I uninstalled and then reinstalled this morning with no change, still same refusal to load.

Are you using the exact same shortcut as before?

Locate the actual exe file that starts the editor.  use that / create a shortcut using that.

Note the location and the file size of the exe file.

    Thank you for the reply

I do not find “PrefFilename” on the computer. I ran several searches and they found no file(s) by that name.

I did a directory search to try to find C:\Users\alfre\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop Element\Adobe Photoshop Elements Settings

I did not find that exact string

    I found the following

    C:\Users\alfre\OneDrive\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Common\LUTs\Input\Output

    Nothing about preferences.

Additional info: I did use PS Elements on Sunday June 14 to resize and add my initials as a watermark to about 30 photos that were then posted on my Face Book page. So that means whatever happened to prevent it loading occurred within that time frame of two days. Not sure if that provides any usable info however.

I can load the Organizer but it shows no previews. It’s just the PS Elements workspace that does not load up.
