i just need to know what to do to capture an object in elements 9 to save for later use.

I'm still not sure what you are asking but if you want to cut out an animal from a photo so only the animal is visible in the photo, here is one way to do it.

 

  • Use one of the selection tools to select the animal.  The Quick Selection tool will work for this purpose.
  • Press Ctrl+J.  This creates a new layer with just the animal selection appearing.

 

  • Delete or hide the background layer.  Only the animal layer will remain.
  • Save the file.

 

Elements 9 is more than 10 years old.  There have been many tools that have been added to the program since then that make the job even easier.

Can you explain in more detail why you need to capture the object now and what you plan to do with the object in the future?

I paint animals on canvas, feathers, and other things. So I go to find free pictures on the internet and copy them to my computer to use later for a painting. I only use the animal in the picture to copy. I have never used the Adobe photoshop elements 9 or Adobe premiere elements 9. I am confused when I do. there has to be an easier why to explain the process step by step.
