need to reinstall but do not have the software

I purchased photoshop elements some time ago.  i need to reinstall but the download is no longer available in my account and I'm pretty sure i never received cd roms.  what is available is my serial number.  is there any chance for using the software i already purchased or is adobe going to assume/require that i re-purchase?
