NEF to DNG - unknown error (only photos from old manual lens on adapter)

I have a problem with Adobe DNG and converting NEF files fron Nikon Z5.

With Z lenses there is no problem, however photos taken with old Nikkor Q 135mm, which is manual lens for F mount, are not being converted.

I see arror every time: there was an unknown error.

I can convert those files online, and open them in View NX, so files themselves are OK.

Any thought?

On macOS 10.14 Mojave your sample nef will not open in camera raw 12.4 or get processed by the adobe dng converter 12.4 showing the same error message you got.

However, your provided sample nef will open with camera raw 13.4 and gets processed with the adobe dng converter 13.4, so i can only conclude that there is a bug in the adobe dng converter 12.4.

Unfortunately I will have to change windows to be able to install 13.4 version of DNG converter.

Did you use Nikon Transfer to get the nefs from your camera to computer?

No, I always copy directly from SD card

Can you provide a sample file of a problem nef?

Can you share one of the problem nefs so we can try on our end?

Has that 135 Q lens been AI converted?

I have tried to add exif data to one file but it is not working either.

Every time I get error you can see below.

What version of photoshop elements and version of windows are you using?

I use 12.4 version of DNG converter on windows 7 sp1

nikkor lens is not Ai converted.
