new camera, old software

Was wondering if anyone could help with my dilemma. I recently purchased a Nikon D750 and have been using Photoshop Elements 11 for quite some time with minimal issues. However, with the new camera, the software will not open raw images. I downloaded a dng converter, but don't like the added step it takes now in editing. If I upgrade to a newer version of Elements, should that remedy the problem? Any other recommendations to remedy this problem?

Version 13 and later (including Photoshop  Elements 2018) will support your Nikon D750 RAW.
