In the past when using new layer via cut after selecting the object and clicking on new layer via cut a work box would appear in the top right of my screen with new layer via copy and new layer via cut for me to click on. I am not getting that now have i inadvertantly clicked on something I shouldn't have?

Correct answer Greg_S.

If you have recently updated to Elements 2024, I'm guessing that you won't see the Layers panel or the Layers button shown in Walter's screenshot, because you are in Quick Mode.  Layers are not available in that mode.  You need to click on the Advanced tab at the top of the screen:

Hello Walter, I played and found that icon, I never had to do that before so I don't know what changed but all good now thanks.

Hi Murray, I'm glad it working for you now. Clicking on that button also turns the Layers Panel OFF. So, like you suggested in your original post, you must have inadvertantly clicked on it and turned it off.

Have you activated the Layers panel by clicking on the "Layers" tool in the bottom-right of the window?
