NIK 7 not opening with PSE 2020?

I just purchased DxO's NIK 7 to use with PSE. I presently have the old Google NIK as a plug in on Photoshop Elements 2020, Windows 11 23H2. I have deleted all aspects of the old NIK. I have placed NIK 7 into PSE's plug-ins folder, and have checked NIK's settings to open NIK automatically on launch. However, when I open PSE, NIK isn't opened...as expected. NIK 7 is in PSE's File>Automation Tools, and will open when selected. I am used to having NIK's pallet open over PSE when PSE is opened. What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

You are doing nothing wrong.   You version of PSE will not work (it's too old / not compatible) with the NIK 7 collection,  and that's even posted on their website:

For your version you can go up to NIK4

    So far, I'm finding that NIK 7 doesn't work with PSE 2020 in just one area (but an important one.) When selecting a subject while in PSE and then trying to use NIK for that selected area, crashes PSE. PSE crashes while "waiting for host..." Otherwise, if not selecting an area (using Select>Subject,) everything else in NIK 7/PSE 2020) seems to function properly.
