Nik collection for Photoshop elements

Dear Support,

Following from a previous support answer.

I have downloaded a trial version of Elements 2019 for using my new Lumix G9 camera. My old Elements 2014 has Nik collection plug in software which I use frequently and used to be a free download . I am aware DxO now owns this and charge $69 for the download plug in for Elements 2019. Information also implies the old plug in free version will not work and will result in crashes?

Is this true ? or is it just a means to force a sale?

It would imply Adobe has done some form of deal with DxO.

I have no objection to buying this if it is the only option.

    I would just copy over the Nik plugins from pse 14 to pse 2019 and see if they work.
