No Media to be displayed

I'm using Elements 12 and Windows 10.  In the middle of working on a 300 photo album of a recent trip I cannot access any pictures in the Organizer.  I only have a gray square with a "no media to be displayed" notation in the center.  All of my downloaded pictures are on my hard drive.  It seems that the link between the Adobe Organizer and my hard drive photos as been lost.  I've tried to adjust the View menu but that didn't help.  The problem occurred without warning.  Any suggestions?

That frequenly happens when you have set inadvertently a 'filter'.

    - first, be sure that 'All Media' is displayed in the middle of the 3rd top bar. If not, click on the the 'All Media' on the left.

    - The biggest trap is the View (by media type) menu where you may have pressed Ctrl + something and that has disabled Ctrl + 1 to display photos.

    - There should be no time range selected

    - Be sure you have not 'hidden' files (Menu View >> hidden files)

    - Show the 'Information panel' on the right: if there is 'no selection' shown in the middle of the panel, you should be good.

Also check that you have not opened another catalog by error (menu File >> Manage Catalogs)

Thank you very much.  I went back into the View Menu and found that somehow the photos option wasn't checked.  don't know how that happened but problem solved.
