None of my Adobe Photoshop Elements documents (psd) documents will open in a word document setting. Any hints to convert?

When I save an Adobe Photoshop Elements picture as a psd, BMP, GIF, JPEG etc, it will not open in a word document setting at all.  It comes up as a large box with Image 1 at the top.  What am I doing in saving the picture document that will not open in a document format?

    In LibreOffice Writer:

    Click View

Make sure Images and Charts has a checkmark (If it doesn’t, click it.)

Let me know if that helped

You are a wizz!!  That did the trick.  Such a small thing and yet it lets all the computer frustration dissipate.  Thank you so very much for staying the distance with me.  I certainly appreciate it.

    Kindest regards

Sorry, I should have been clearer.  File → Options → Advanced → Show document content → uncheck “Show picture placeholders” needs to happen in your Word app.  PSE 11 is fine as is.

Yes, I tried it in the Word programme too.  However, this is a LibreOffice programme I’m dealing with and doesn’t follow your simple instructions.  So sorry, but can you help with LibreOffice?

Thank you so much for your speedy reply.  However, my version of Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 is very old.  The file  Options,  Advanced,  Show document content, uncheck  “Show picture placeholders” option doesn't appear, strangely.  Where else could I uncheck “Show picture placeholders?” Many thanks.

    Copilot offers this …

Turn off “Show picture placeholders” This setting makes Word display boxes labeled “Image 1” instead of the actual picture.

Go to: File → Options → Advanced → Show document content → uncheck “Show picture placeholders.”
