Not enough RAM - Elements 15

I've been using Photoshop Elements since 2006; this is my 4th version, which I purchased in February of 2017.  It has worked flawlessly - until yesterday! I'm in the middle of a project and now I cannot do ANYTHING with this software.  It says I don't have enough RAM.  I have 4 GB of RAM and even with the program running, I'm only using less than half of that.  I would try to reinstall the software, but unfortunately I purchased a download so I don't have the disk.  Can't figure out how to contact Adobe to see if the download is still available.  I will not buy another upgrade that may not work with my RAM. Also, my computer doesn't seem to have room for additional RAM.  Any suggestions?

Download Photoshop Elements 15 here: https://trials.adobe.com/AdobeProducts/legacy/99CABBAC-C975-4A06-8D99-064C6871EE80/PSE/15/win64/PhotoshopElements_15_LS30_win64.exe (this link was given to me by Adobe customer service on 3/18/2021 and is verified as of that date).  I am currently working with an Adobe rep to fix this issue and have given them the fix mentioned in this thread in hopes they will be able to reverse engineer the problem.  I will update if I come up with a solution.

I have the same issue, I am not computer literate but have worked out most of the details of the fix except the requirement for an integer between 50 and 8. This relates, I assume to RAM. my laptop has only 4Mb.  Does this mean I cannot hope to repair the system and it will never work.  Can anybody out there help.  Cheers

I suspect you have been able to display that tree of softwares:

Assuming you are on the line corresponding to your software, here 16.0 for Elements 2018, you have to right click with the cursor anywhere on the display to make the dialog for entering the Dword 32 appear. You can edit that Dword easily if it is not right on the first try.

No, 4MB is ok and most of the Elements users having applied the registry edit have 4MB.

The fix did not work for me; it worked for a while only letting me save the image as a PDF; and then i have to find a way to convert it to a image file. This is now the second time with a Adobe product I purchase is not working right

Hey, I've got a solution and it works! Taken from this forum:

Ensure PSE 2018 is closed when using regedit.

Run regedit, go to: hkey current user > software > adobe > photoshop elements > 16.0 [14.0 in my case, with PSE 14.1]

Right click in right pane > new dword 32 bit value [The correct option is "new dword 32 bit value" even if, like mine, it's a 64 bit version

-- I first tried "new qword 64 bit value" to no effect.]

        Type > OverridePhysicalMemoryMB

Open it > change to decimal > enter 8000 (eg 8000 MB for 8 GB RAM)

Click ok and close regedit [And the fix works right away, without having to reboot the PC.]

So.... Photoshop Elements isn't showing up in the Adobe Tab when I am using regedit to fix the "not enough memory" glitch. Why would that be?

I have this same question.  Did you download the software from the Microsoft store on your comp, kinda like an app?  That's the only thing I can figure that is different and has changed the regedit location..

Gloria, I've got the same problem. Cannot do anything in the program. It is just disgusting.
