Olympus ORF files - NO Thumbnails - Elements 15

Help needed

I have an Olympus OM-D E-M10II camera.

Raw files are *.ORF

I can open them and edit and save.

BUT - There are no thumbnails for the ORF files.

There are for JPEG and TIFF but not ORF.

Works perfectly with my Nikon D750 Raw files *.NEF.

Running Win 7 - 64 Bit - Premiere Elements 15 - just installed last week.

Thank you

Bruce B

Photoshop elements 15 uses the windows supplied operating system Open dialog, so windows is responsible for providing thumbnails.

Since it doesn't seem that microsoft is updating their Camera Codec Pack for windows 7 anymore and haven't since

sometime in 2014, you need a third party codec like this.

    Hi R_Kelly:

Looks like that is what I need.

You would think that Adobe would have info on this before you install depending on your operating system.

Not impressed to say the least.

But very glad that you were able to point me in the right direction.

    Thank you

So as a test I have used the new DNG Convertor 9.9 and successfully changed the Olympus ORF files to DNG files.

I also installed FastStone Viewer to see if that works for viewing thumbnails of both ORF & DNG and it does.

The screenshot of Elements 15 "Open File" will not give thumbnails for ORF or DNG.

FastStone gives thumbnails for all formats so I would have thought that Adobe converted files into an adobe program would not be a problem.

Thought that this was a Win7 problem, but now not convinced.

Any advice or help to solve would be appreciated.

But as you see in this
