OneDrive and Organizer Query

Every so often, I back up my Organizer, now with 144,000 items, and move to a second laptop where I 'Restore' so I have full back up of everythings and tags and albums.  this time on 'Restore' it keeps informing me that it is doing it through OneDrive, although I requested it do it through my external hard drive setting, and transfer to the second laptop.  It appears to be taking forever.  It normally will all take a couple of days but this seems slower.

Is it best to let it run through this time, and in futre switch off OneDrive however I do that?  Whatever it does, I have no idea and do not know if I need it.  Thank you.
