Actually, there is a hidden method for using a Quick Mask mode in Elements. See this video.

But as Jeff says, there may be other easier methods for accomplishing your needs.

Photoshop elements doesn't have a Quick Mask mode.

Maybe we can suggest another way of accomplishing what you want to do.
