Organizer 2022 Slideshow Freezes (Crashes), Won't Start

Organizer 2022 freezes, rather than starts, on every attempt to create a Slideshow.  It freezes regardless whether starting by Create, Slideshow ... or using the TaskBar, Slideshow ... or selecting a couple photos, right-clicking, & choosing Slideshow.  It freezes on the "Loading" message, rather than starting Slideshow.  I'm running a relatively newish Dell PC, Windows 10.   I have to use Premiere (Expert Mode) to make slideshows.  What's wrong with Organizer 2022's Slideshow?

The slideshows in recent PSE don't work as most users would expect, and in a very different way from the old slideshow versions in older versions or the slideshows in Premiere Elements.

Whatever way you choose to start building the slideshow, before starting, select your pictures in a selection or an album.

Then you always have to wait until a 'preview' is built automatically in the background and displayed at the end of the intitial process, which is to analyse the contents of the images. Only after this 'preview' version you can define your choice for the template and other available options.

I don't believe you are seeing a crash, but a long analyzing stage freezing the display until you can enter your limited options (those slideshows are meant to be automatic). The task manager is showing the organizer as 'unresponsive' but using a lot of processor and memory resources.

If you are seeing a real crash, please provide more info about your OS version and your hardware (the 20 first lines of the report from the menu Help>System info for instance).

Thanks for thinking about this.  Above and beyond the call.  I'll paste my system info below.  Since posting, I've gone into the PC's Dell update feature and updated the BIOS, the video driver, and five other things.  Still, Photoshop Organizer stops with a "loading" message ... that is after I've selected just 2 or 3 photos and tried starting the Slideshow feature, through the Slideshow choice at the bottom of the screen, through the Create, Slideshow choice at the top of the screen, and through Editor, with a couple photos, and Create, Slideshow.  No error message appears.  I have waited an hour sometimes.  Sometimes Windows pops up with the message that Organizer is Not Responding.  Oddly, I also once tried responding to the first welcome screen, which says something about slideshow, Try It, which opened Organizer and pointed to the Create Slideshow at the bottom (w/o saying anything about select photos first) so I didn't select, just to see, and I did get a couple messages relevant to slidshow, maybe mentioning templates, but it then froze on "loading," too.   I wonder if I should uninstall the prior Photoshop Organizer 2020, which is still on the PC.  I'm using Photoshop Elements Organizer and Premiere 2022.  Or, I wonder if I should reinstall the current Organizer 2022 software - somehow (not sure how).  Thoughts?

Are you getting any error messages?

What kinds of files are you using to create the slideshow?

Does it happen if you select a single file to create the slideshow?

Under Edit>Preferences>General, what setting do you have for Use Graphics Processor for Video Playback?  Change the checkbox setting and see if makes a difference.
