Organizer Files

How do I move my Organizer files to a new PC? I can move the images, but I need the tags to move also. I have invested too much time to lose this information. I am running Win 10 and using an older version of PSE. I will be upgrading to the current version of PSE. I have looked but not found any options in Organizer to assist with this move.

I am new to this Community. What's with all the numbers and letters after my name??

Greg,

Thank you for your response. Your mention of the Backup option made me realize that's missing from my screen. Although I am using the Edit features and can use the Organizer, it appears that either my PSE had an incomplete install way back in time or the software has been corrupted. My need for backup is the result of having to do a clean install of Windows - i.e. other problems, as well. I might have to sacrifice my Tags unless you or someone would know what file they are stored in and some way of manually merging that with a new install. I should have detected this long ago, but my use of PSE infrequent.

The best way to transfer your catalog and keep all of your hard work is to use the backup/restore utility.  You can backup your catalog on your old computer using your old version of Elements, then restore the backup to the new computer, using your new version of Elements.  The catalog will be converted to the new version format during this process.

As for your screen name on this forum, try clicking on this link.  It should take you to your Adobe.com account profile where you can edit the screen name and change it to whatever you want.

For further information about the backup/restore process, see this article.

Hi Don,

It would be helpful if you would specify which version of PSE you are using. The Backup command is found in the File dropdown menu or a Ctrl+B.
