Parent and nested albums in PSE 2024 organiser

I have a new laptop with PSE 2024.  My photos are on an external hard drive organised into folders for each year with sub-folders for different subjects.  What is the easiest way to import this structure into the Organiser so that each year is an album and each sub-folder subject becomes an album within the year's album please?

I am quite sure there is no way to easily and automatically transform the folder structure into albums and sub-albums.

A more realistic approach would be to assign a keyword for the year and another one for each different name of your folders. A combined search for both tags would retrieve the equivalent of each subfolder.

Easy to assign the year tag, for instance Y2024.

To assign the subfolder name as a new keyword, use the folder view in LIST view. Do a search by details, folder name, starts with and assign the same keyword to all files. Do this for each recurring subfolder name.

Remember that albums are only "playlists" of your photos. Those lists can be found in alphabetic or in hierarchical order.
