PE 8 won't recognize HP Deskjet 3521 - How do I correct that?

First of all...I would love to be able to talk to someone directly about this issue. Why isn't there a help phone number? I am on an iMac running High Sierra. When I connected to my HP Deskjet 3521, I found the Mac doesn't recognize the scanner. How do I correct this so I can scan in PE 8?

Can you scan with the native software that came with HP deskjet, save the output to a folder on your desktop, and open the scan-files in PSE for enhancement?
