PE Video Editor Locks Up

Premiere Elements 2020 Video Editor Locks up

When creating a slideshow using the video editor, the program constantly locks up when adding transitions to the slideshow. I have tried removing the program and re installing the program, but after a while the problem returns. Any Ideas.
