PE14 unable to sign in on computer running Win7

I have Photo Shop Elements 11 installed on my computer, it has the following spec:

OS Win 7 Professional SP1

64 bit operating system

Intel 3.6ghz processor

16 gb RAM

C Drive:  250GB SSD

D Drive 1Tb HDD.

Browsers:

Firefox v.94.0.1

Chrome V.95.0.4638.69

I have purchased a new old stock PE 14 upgrade; according to the box my computer meets all the criteria to run it. I have installed it and created an account.

When right clicking on a photo and selecting "open with - PE14 editor"

The following sequence happens:

A window opens “sign in required” I then click on “sign in now”

Next window appears “Update required”  “learn more” in blue click on this.

Next Window “update your operating system to work with Adobe apps”

There is a sign in area which will not accept any input

Then there is a section about updating Windows registry entries for Acrobat which I do not understand.

At the bottom is “Ask the community” Ask now.

If I sign in, there is a list of apps? Clicking on Photoshop elements another page opens  and I can click on Post I can post this request.

Why can I not run PE 14 when the computer meets all the requirements and was introduced long before all this aggravation  came about to run a simple program.

Yes I have an Adobe Account

Yes PSE 11 still works

Installed from a disk which was sold as new and still had a seal on it.

Yes I am aware that Win 7 is no longer supported, BUT as it states on
the box PE 14 system requirements include Win7 with SP1, in my book it
should still work and if not why not.

Geoff

Uninstall, then  reinstall PSE.v.14, but this time temporarily disable your antivirus program during the process.

Geoff,

When you right click on a file, this opens a context menu, and PSE Editor is not listed. However, if you have a successful installation of PSE, you should have a desktop icon which you can target to open PSE Editor & Organizer. If you don't see this icon look in the start menu for PSE.

Thanks for your input.

I have two icons on the desk top:
Adobe Photoshop Elements 14
Adobe Premiere Elements 14

On opening either I get a page with flashing images, when I click on
Photo Editor I get the Sign In Required page and subsquent pages as
decribed earlier. I get the same results if I click on the respective
icons on the start menu.

Do you have an Adobe account?

I take it that your PSEv.11 works ok.

Did you install PSEv.14 from a disk? Note that the license is for installation on 2 machines. Did the previous owner deactivate on at least one machine?

I am sure that you are aware that Windows 7 is no longer supported by contemporaneous updates.
