PE2022 stopped importing photos

I Imported photos from my iPhone to an Album as I always have with PE2022 on my laptop..  After organizing those photos I tried to Import some more photos to another Album.  At the point where the Import has all of my iPhone photos (but it doesn't actually show the photos on mhy screen), the process froze.  After waiting for some time, I tried to Cancel the Import, but nothing happened.  I eventually was able to Close out of PE2022.  I tried to Import photos from my iPhone again, but the import did not detect my iPhone.  I re-started my laptop and re-booted my laptop, but the PE2022 still does not detect my iPhone.

    Try a different USB port and/or a new cable.

    Are you using an Apple cable?

    Have you tried using a different USB port?

    Does Windows detect your iPhone?

    Have you told the iPhone to Trust your computer each time you connect it?

    Are you getting any error messages?

    If Windows is detecting your iPhone, have you tried Importing>From Files and Folders?

    When you say that you are importing to an Album, are you talking about assigning the files to a catalog Album on import?

    Sorry for delay in replying.  We left for Europe late on 9/11/23.

    Are you using an Apple cable? YES

    Have you tried using a different USB port? NO, SAME PORT I HAVE ALWAYS USED. STILL WORKING SOMETIMES.

    Does Windows detect your iPhone? THAT IS MY PROBLEM. SOMETIMES IT DOES. SOMETIMES IT DOESN’T. RE-STARTING AND RE-BOOTING HAS SOMETIMES HELPED - SOMETIMES NOT.

    Have you told the iPhone to Trust your computer each time you connect it? I DO, IF IT DETECTS THE PHONE THE PHONE AND ASKS.

    Are you getting any error messages? NO. JUST NOT DETECTING MY iPHONE ON OCCASION.

    If Windows is detecting your iPhone, have you tried Importing>From Files and Folders?  I HAVE NOT TRIED THAT. HOPING I DON’T HAVE TO DO THAT TO IMPORT PHOTOS VIA PE2022 TO ADD TO MY CATALOG’S ALBUMS.

    Any help from anyone would be appreciated. Will be adding (I hope!) many, many photos after this European trip.
