I bit the bullet and purchased PSE 15, saying goodbye to Picasa after 15+ years. After importing 1,700 folders of pictures I find several differences that are going to be a big problem for me.  Let me just start with this concern.  I must tag people so that I can continue to do the movies needed.  PSE is recognizing people, that is a plus, but as an example Jim may have 20 pics. Ann may have 20 pics. Mary may have 20 pics etc.  but alas, there may be 30 thumbnails for each person I must tag and name. With 1,700 folders of pictures, this same scenario has hundreds and hundreds of thumbnails that must be tagged, and many of the thumbnails are of the same person, maybe having only one pic.  I hope I have explained this well enough. Picasa would at least throw pics under a name and you could select all or exclude a pic. Please, I am desperate for help. I will be working on this throughout 2017 if this is the case. Thank you.

    I am just feeling over whelmed.   Most of these people have been tagged already, but the same ones will appear over and over again in people unnamed. The program shows there are 13,889 people to be tagged.  The same person may show up 100 times with 12 pics all the way down to 1.         .  Have I gone

    backwards in a photo program? Thanks.

    I have the same issue.  I just switched from Picassa to Elements 15, and so far, the Picassa facial identification system seems far superior.  I have been tagging faces for approximately two days now, and have tagged about 1600 photos (about 40 people), and the "named" faces page doesn't seem to learn a face, even though in some cases I have tagged several hundred images of the same person. I have about 9000 photos, with perhaps between 15 to 20 thousand faces that need to be tagged.  There must be something I'm doing wrong (I've already stopped and started the "auto-detect" with no perceivable difference).  At this rate, it will be months before the same people are tagged. Is there a better way???

    You can refer to this link for information on how People tagging works in Elements Organizer:

    Marking faces in photos in Elements Organizer

    As you would start naming the face stacks, organizer would learn from your tagging and offer you suggestions for other faces also.

    You can merge the multiple face stacks and then name them collectively.
