Photo files didn't load correctly

Question

I do nature photography and file my photos by place, then subfiles for subject, then subfiles for dates.  I had been using PSE2019 and this system worked fine.  I loaded the same files using the same system into PSE2021 (on a new computer), and all that loaded was the subfiles for dates. So, I now have a bunch of files with the same name (ex/ 10 files named 10-01-2020) Is there a way to get the photos to load with the system I had been using?

I suspect that when you restored the backup to the new computer, you chose the option to use a New Location for the files. This flattened your file structure. You should have chosen one of the two other options. See this article for a full explanation.

Don't feel badly. The given choices are not very clear.
