I used PS2 for years but after changing my desktop for a laptop decided not to risk downloading the free version.

After lookin into PsElements15 I thought it was just what I wanted to be able to manipulate and create things for my family.

However, after trying without success to make a short version of my great granddaughters ancestry I feel like a complete failure.

I seem unable to produce Layers. I need a background (managed that) opened my 1st Photo.OK. but when I opened the next

photo' there it was in my photo' bin but no new layer below or above the first 2. Any ideas anybody?? Iv'e followed numerous

tutorial videos but they don't explain what to do when layers won't play ball.

Desperate!!!

    Hi Lulu0702008,

As suggested by hatstead, you can use File menu>Place option. Alternatively, you can drag and drop the image from the photo-bin. The result in both the cases would be same. It would place the image as a Smart object. You can resize and move smart object any number of times without losing it's quality.

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers,

It sounds as if you trying to make a collage.

    1. Go to File>New>blank file. Do the math and make this of sufficient size to accommodate all the files. This will be your canvas. (Background Layer)
    2. Go to File>Place. Point to Picture file #1 and click on Place.
    3. Adjust size and position same, then commit with the check-mark.
    4. Repeat for Picture file #2, with steps 2&3, then Picture file #3, etc.
    5. Each file should come in on a separate layer.
