Photographs do not have arrow forward or back

Only happened as of last night, downloaded photographs as per normal, view in larger size, and they will not go forward or back (with arrow)  However if i assign each photograph with a number,  the arrows appear but not on photographs with photocard id.     This means if i look any photograph with card id i have to come out of that photograph and click on next instead of just going forward with arrow as normal.  What has happened and can you please help.  Thank you.
