Photomerge in Photoshop Elements 2020

When I combine two pictures with Photomerge the hide and reveal are not working. I uninstalled and re-installed and it worked a few times then stoppped again. I tried again to uninstall and re-install and this time it didn't work, Hide and reveall still not working.
