Photos on external hard drive

As Michel says, you can use an ehd. Ensure it is always connected to your computer, when using Elements.

You can store your photo files in the drives of your choice, internal or external.

You can use the preferences of the downloader in the organizer to tell in which drive/folder you want to download your photo files by default. Organizer menu Edit >> Preferences >> files.

You can also set the preferences of the downloader to create a date based subfolder hierarchy ('advanced' butto of the downnloader).

You can use the folders panel on the left (in 'Tree' view) to move folders with their subfolders to another drive or master folder by drag and drop. That helps you free up space on your main computer.
