Photoshop crashes

I'm using photoshop elements 12 school-version on my Macbook pro with macOS Mojave 10.14.3 for 4 years now, usually with out any problems. For a few months now the program crashes every single time, usually after 1-3 minutes and the changes I made are deleted, sometimes even though I saved them. The info is (sorry, translated from German) "Photoshop was closed down unexpectedly", that's it. No reaction from support. Can anybody help me, please? Thank you! Ulf
