Photoshop Element 2018 Parsing Problem

I have never worked in any type of photo editing program and recently downloaded the trial version of Photoshop Element 2018 because I liked the features it offers and wanted to try it out before spending $100. However I keep getting an error stating there is a problem with parsing jpeg data when I attempt to use the open closed eye feature. I have searched for a solution, but have only found other users experiencing the same problem. After attempting to use several other photos and getting the same error the program completely shut down. When looking for support I am directed to this forum. Is this the only way to receive help as a potential buyer and is this what I should expect in the future if I am a paying customer? Is Adobe not addressing the parsing problem? As stated above, I see numerous users experiencing the same issue, but I don't see any solution or any feedback from Adobe. This has me a bit concerned and has me rethinking this purchase.

The problem is the result of Microsoft updating its Windows 10 operating system to the version 1803 a few months ago.

Error: An integer between 50 and 8 is required | Elements | Windows 10

This is the answer provided by Adobe. It has solved the problem for thousands of users of Elements 14, 15 and 2018.

Edit the registry (requires 2 minutes) following the step by step instructions.

Had 14 in a desktop & a new laptop. Had never used the Photoshop in the laptop till a couple weeks ago on the road. 'Parsing' error left me dead in the water. Always worked on the desktop & both have windows 10. Didn't get the 'easy' fix to work so out it came. Just chalk it up as another waste of money.
