Question

Photoshop Elements 10 and Windows 10

I purchased PSE 10 several years ago for a PC. I now have a Laptop with Windows 10. I tried to install the product on my laptop which went OK but when I tried the "Organize" button  a dialog box says "DirectX is not initializing ....etc" . I  have checked and my laptop has the most up to date DirectX installed. I can edit a photo but when trying to save the Organize has the same problem. Is it possible to get around this?

P.S. I’ve moved this from the Photoshop Fix (mobile app) forum to the Photoshop Elements (desktop app) forum.

    Hi David,

While your laptop has the latest DirectX, it’s a sure bet the PSE10, released in 2011, doesn’t know about it. In 2011, Windows 7 was still the current OS version.

You’d be better off getting a more recent PSE version (this year they started naming versions with years, so after last year’s PSE15 we are now at PSE2018).

    I hope that helps,

    Mike
