Photoshop Elements 10 with Windows 10

I'm still having issues. Although PSE10 does run OK on my Windows 10 PC the serial number of the product is not stored. The effect of this means that every time I want to use the application I have to re-enter the serial number on start-up. As you can imagine this is frustrating.

Previous advice has been to purchase a newer version of PSE, but as I don't have any other issues running PSE10 other than this I am reluctant to do so. Surely there must be a way to lock the serial number into the Windows registry so that I can get around this annoyance?
