Photoshop Elements 11

Can anyone advise on Photoshop Elements 11? I can't open NEF files from the new z50, but I can open PEF files from the old Pentax. Adobe helplines are useless as they can only tell me about the last 2 versions.

I have also downloaded the adobe DNG convertor, which won't open the NEF files. Maybe I am not looking at the screen correctly!

Correct answer Jeff Arola

When you select the folder with the nefs, just click on folder, do not open the folder.

Thanks. Once I selected the folder it bought up to convert and allowed me to do so.

What version of windows are you using?

I believe pse 11 can only use yp to camera raw 7.4, so you would need to use the dng converter to convert the Z50 nefs to dng copies which then should open in pse 11.

According to this, the DNG Converter 12.1 (camera raw and dng version numbers correspond) and newer should handle the Nikon Z50 nefs

So if you have windows 10/11 the 14.4 dng converter from here should handle the Nikon Z50 nefs

Hi Jeff, I am running windows 10 version 21H2. When I selected the folder in DNG convertor nothing came up. I just reopened PSE11 and clicked on a photo and it opened. I was waiting for it to do something in DNG Convertor.

Thanks anyway for your help. Adobe were useless

Back again so soon. Miss information is given.

I accidentally opened a JPEG file not Raw.  So I'm still in the darkroom as to how to open my NEF files.
