Photoshop Elements 11 menus don't open properly

Hi

I've used PSE11 successfully for some years but my programme is now not operating correctly. When I fire it up I get the blue opening dialog box but it no longer has the list of contributors names and just goes through the list of start-up activities. Once open, none of the drop down menus can be read. I just get a white vertical bar appearing with arrows in some of the rows but the menu options don't appear to the right of them. OK, so I try to reinstall the programme. First PSE11 is not shown in my list of apps in Windows 10 so I can't uninstall it. How odd. All my other apps are listed normally. OK, so I try to run the install disc which starts to uninstall PSE11 after I check the "Deactivate" box but after a few seconds stops telling me there is an empty file and it won't go further. I guess some file in PSE11 has become corrupt but I don't see how to proceed from here. Any ideas, please?

    Hi hatstead

Thanks for the lead. I read the forums and it doesn't look good. Maybe Adobe/Microsoft will fix it one day but I guess not. Simple solution, but not cost free, would be to upgrade to the latest version ... but PSE15 is 64 bit and my OS is 32 bit. As my machine is 64 bit I could reconfigure it but then I will have to reinstall all my other apps and update the drivers!!!

There have been many reports of PSE malfunction after a recent Microsoft Windows 10 update. Scan the posts here on the forum to get in idea of the scope of this problem. The older versions of the program don't work well on the newer operating system. See here:
