Photoshop elements 11 on Mac closes when I close tabs

I have adobe elements 11. The entire program closes when I use the "X" button to close a file. It does NOT close when I use file>close or use command+w and acts normally that way. This has not happened before until I updated to Mojave 10.14.0. I reseted the preferences in program but that hasn't helped. Is there any way to remedy this?

Correct answer Jeff Arola

You should be on macOS 10.14.2.

Apple>About This Mac

If not, go to Apple>System Preferences>Software Update

Anyway, there have been lots of reports of issues with pse 11 and Mojave

An adobe employee Mohit Goyal suggests a fix you should try.

The link you gave me had just the answer for why it was acting strange. I'll make sure to update my mac to see if it affects the program more. For now this has fixed the issues I currently had with the program. Thanks!
