Question

Photoshop elements 12 crashes after Monterey 12.7.6

I recently updated my late 2014 Mac mini to Monterey 12.7.6 and since then Photoshop elements 12 crashes.

The first time elements opened and allowed me to add text to a photo. It crashed when i tried to save the project. Now it will launch but crash when I click anywhere on the screen.

I have checked SECURITY & PRIVACY > ACCESSIBILITY and Photoshop Elements is still ticked.

Any clues or help to resolve this would greatly appreciated .

Yes there is a possibilty that PSE 12 simply won't work macOS Monterey 12, since Apple did away with the running of 32 bit apps starting in macOS Catalina 10.15.

Even though PSE 12 itself is 64 bit, some supporting utilities for PSE 12 are 32 bit.

What version of macOS or Mac OS X did you upgrade from?

You can try a thorough preferences reset of PSE 12 by going to

Macintosh HD/Users/UserName/Library/Preferences

and trashing the following files/folders:

Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 Settings folder

Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 Paths

com.adobe.PhotoshopElements.plist

Thanks for the info Jeff, I will give your suggestion a try.

I upgraded from Mojave. Do you think this is possibly a 32 / 64 bit compatability issue?
