Photoshop Elements 12 now says it is a trial

I purchased photoshop elements 12 some years ago may be 6 or 7 and installed it on my P C. About 6 weeks when I opened it it said that I had a 30 day free trial. I was gutted, now i cant use it unless i buy a license. IS THIS RIght

    What happens when you go to the activate screen and re-enter your serial number?

    You say PC... exactly which version of Windows, and did this problem start after a Windows update?

    IF Windows 10

    Two ideas that MAY work to install and/or run old programs in Windows 10

    -RIGHT click the program icon or EXE and select a compatibility mode in the pop up option window

    -or Run as Administrator http://forums.adobe.com/thread/969395 to assign FULL Windows permissions may help... says Encore, but sometimes required for ALL Adobe programs (this is NOT the same as using an Administrator account)

    Owners of old programs simply have problems with Windows 10... none of which is Adobe's fault... Adobe did not change your old program to make it stop working... Microsoft changed their operating system and THAT is why your old program won't work, not because of anything Adobe did... Also... every time Microsoft issues a Win10 update, there is the risk that an old program that HAS been working after the initial Win10 upgrade will STOP working... bottom line, old programs require a matching old operating system

    I have windows 8.1 and i also went to trial mode i thought it would just return 30 days later and i put in my key code but now it says its not compatible. i can clearly see that it is . the trial worked fine too.  i have had it for 4 years on this program. I also have CS2 that works perfectly. but there are thing i like that elements has for me. any help you can give.
