Photoshop Elements 12 / Photo Editor

When I use  "Quick, Sharpen" and try to save the level I have selected, the sharpened image reverts to the original condition as soon as I open the "File" drop down. What causes this to happen? Thanks very much.

    Try resetting the preferences as it is shown for Elements 11 in below link:
