Photoshop Elements 12 Problems After Upgrading to Windows 11

I recently upgraded to Windows 11. I installed Photoshop Elements 12 and entered the serial number.

When I opened tthe Elements program, I got a message that said, "Adobe Sign In Required. "

  • I clicked on "Sign In Now" button.
  • I copied and pasted the URL into my browser to the sign in screen.
  • I entered my email address, and it sent a verification code to my email.
  • I entered the verification code on the screen, and it asked for my password.
  • I entered the password.
  • I clicked, "Continue."
  • The message said, "You are now signed in. You can close this window and go back to where you signed off."
  • I closed the window and clicked on the Photoshop Elements icon, and it brought me back to the "Adobe Sign In Required" screen.

I looked under my profile, and my Elements 12 is registered.

What am I doing wrong?

You are probably not doing anything wrong.  This is a fairly common issue and I have been unable to get a straight answer from Adobe as to how to fix it.   I have a couple of suggestions.

  • First, download and install the Microsoft Video Studio 2013 Redistributable package.  Download both the X86 and X64 files.
  • The only other possible suggestion I have is to remove your computer entirely from the internet and activate the license offline using the instructions found here.  A few users have been successful with this method, but others have not.  I don't have sufficient data to figure out why that is the case.

Greg thanks for your reply, I ran into the same problem when I installed windows 11. My Elements 12 wouldn't work and Geek Squad told me I had to purchase an updated version.  Installed the new 2025 version, I can use it but cannot print out pictures.

I meant to add the error message I get:  "This module is blocked from loading into the Local Security Authority.

\Device\Harddisk\Volume3\Program Files\Bonjour\mdnsNSP.dll"
