Photoshop Elements 13 and Mojave

I was told by Adobe that Photoshop Elements 13 is compatible with Mojave so I upgraded my 6-month old MacBook Pro to Mojave and installed PSE 13 this afternoon.  PSE 13 works but I am continually getting the spinning wheel, almost every time I move my cursor.  This is very annoying and would take forever to actually edit a photo.  What can I do to make it perform better?

We're really sorry about the bad experience as PSE 13 on Mac OS Mojave is freezing unexpectedly, that's definitely shouldn't have happened. Let us help make it right.
