Photoshop Elements 13 Installation on Mac

I have a Macbook Pro running Yosemite and I would like to install Photoshop Elements 13 from a disk.  I currently have PSE & PRE 9 installed and would like to keep it on there.  (However, I am having some issues with 9 since updating to Yosemite.)

I have read some previous conversations saying that when you install PSE running Yosemite, you need to delete preferences before running PSE for the first time.  Is that still the case with PSE 13?

If so, how do you do that?  That sounds really scary to me.

Thanks for your help.

    To delet the prefs.

    Quit Elements

Launch Finder and go to your Username >>Library >> Preferences

Send the following files/folders to the trash:

    com.adobe.PhotoshopElements.plist

    Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 Paths

    Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 Settings.

The library is hidden in recent versions of OSX. To get to your user library quickly, from the top menu in Finder, click “Go” whilst holding down the Option (Alt) key and it will appear for you to choose.

There should be no need to delete preferences. That’s only necessary if you upgrade the OS with PSE13 already installed.

You could install from the Adobe download link, if preferred and then validate the installation with the serial number from inside your disk packaging.

    Download Photoshop Elements | 15, 14, 13, 12, 11, 10

99jon, thanks for your answer so quickly.

OK, so I don't have to delete the preferences for PSE 13.

However, PSE 9 was already installed when I upgraded to Yosemite.  Could that be why I am having problems with it now?  Do I need to delete the preferences to fix it?  If so, how do I do that?

    Thanks.
