Photoshop Elements 14 - Serial number is already in use by the maximum allowed computers

I installed Adobe Photoshop Elements 14 on a PC in 2016. Downloaded from adobe website. Product has worked without issues until this week. This week I began receiving a message that states - "The serial number is already in use by the maximum allowed computers. You must deactivate another computer or provide another valid serial number to use this product again on this computer." Photoshop Elements 14 is not installed on any other PCs. I can't open the application to attempt to de-activate and re-activate. Cust Support offers no assistance - stating that they no longer offer support for this product. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Errors like this sometimes happen because of a server error.

Although you say that the program has been installed on only one computer, did you upgrade from Windows 10 to 11 recently. That will count as an additional device. Also, if you have changed the hardware on your computer, that may also be seen as a different computer.

I have been asking Adobe for months to give us a better explanation (and solution) to this problem. I will use your post to prompt another inquiry. Don't hold your breath.
