Photoshop Elements 15

I have recently downloaded and installed my Photoshop Elements 15 on my new computer and I am sure the dropdown command windows are working differently to how they were before.  When I click on the drop down boxes the live commands do not appear until I place the curser on top of them.  In other words these commands are hidden but the commands that are not live appear all the time in green text.  This means that I have to scroll down to find the command I am looking for which is quite annoying.  This is not the way I remember it being before.  I thought the you could see all of the commands but the ones that were live were highlighted.  Am I wrong?
