Photoshop Elements 15 Can't Show .mts video files

In earlier versions (PSE 11, I believe?) Photoshop Elements had no problems playing .mts video files from my phone.

But Photoshop Elements 15 can't even show a thumbnail! In the organization it's just blank.

When I click on it to play I get a video player that fills the screen but it's just black - no video content whatsoever is shown.

I've seen numerous posts from others with similar problems ...

Please help!

This is Photoshop Elements Version: 15.0 (20160905.m.97630) on Windows 10, 64-bit, 16GB RAM.

    Hi,

    Sorry for the inconvenience.

Can you please check the list of programs installed on your machine and look for something like: Haali Media Splitter / Matroska Splitter?

If yes, try uninstalling it and see if it helps.

In case it doesn't, request you to please share a sample video (.MTS file) @ anwesha@adobe.com so that we can look into the issue.

    Thanks,

I did have the Haali Media Splitter installed. I uninstalled it and can now view videos, and (once played) they have thumbnails again!

BUT ... they play with no sound! Again this was not a problem in older version of Photoshop Elements ...!

Thank you for getting me part of the way there, anyway!

Did you try restarting your machine?

If the audio still does not play, requesting you to please install PRE15 on a trial mode and let us know if it resolves the issue.

    Thanks,
