I have Windows 10 OS. Just recently photoshop crashes when editing images, has this anything to do with the latest windows 10 update (1803)?

To be sure, you can try the registry edit mentioned in that faq:

Error: An integer between 50 and 8 is required | Elements | Windows 10

Thousands of users have had to do it after many different error messages linked with the RAM amount.

    Thank you for your reply.

Firstly, I wish to apologise for the time it has taken me to respond to your guidance but family matters affect my ability to deal with things quickly.

As suggested, I have created a back-up of the registry and I have been able to follow the procedure to create a new registry key, however, I would be grateful if you would clarify whether I should click DWORD (32-bit) Value or QWORD (64-bit) Value since my operating system is Windows 10 64-bit.

    Many thanks

    32-bit as indicated.

The number format needed has nothing to do with your Windows 10 64-bit version.
