Photoshop Elements 19 Crashes When Saving Files (Mac)

Software macOS Mojave Version 10.14.2

When I try to save the psd file my system hangs up and I am forced to do a manual restart (push the button).  Using force quit, does quit the software, but it doesn't correct the error, machine is frozen, even the restart or shut down options are frozen.

When I restart the machine the file that I was working on is destroyed.  either PE19 can't recognized the file or the psd file is just 1 multicoloured layer.

The problem has occurred multiple time, probably 1 ever 2-3 hours.

I am currently using a trial version of the software, obviously if I can't resolve the issue I will not purchase.
