Photoshop Elements 2018 Installation Issue - Student Edition

Please can someone help before this computer heads out of the window!!!

I purchased the student edition of Photoshop Elements 2018 for my son and daughter to use on the home PC.  We received the disks which I duly ran and installed. This was before we went on holiday but last night when we tried to load it up to use it we got this message...

I've spent most of last night and all morning trawling and trying to follow instructions in forums and nothing is resolving this issue. When we go to the link it takes me to Creative Cloud, if I try to download nothing happens.

*****I also don't understand the purpose of Creative Cloud.... do we need to pay and subscribe to it after the free trial ends in order to run Photoshop Elements 2018???*****

We run WIndows 10 on the PC.

My experience of Adobe in the past was great but since the Windows 10 upgrade it is a nightmare, and beyond confusing.

I'm not completely inept but by no means a techincal whizz either so please bear in mind with responses.

Thank you
