Photoshop Elements 2019 - Organizer / Slideshow not responding

Question

I have newly installed Photoshop Elements 2019 (also installed Premiere Elements 2019) running in Windows 10.

Elements seems to be functioning properly as I've made some basic adjustments to photos, mainly to learn the application.

However, when I follow any of the multiple ways to Create a Slideshow, either from the top Create drop down or from the bottom task bar, it is nonresponsive until click anywhere on the screen, and then I receive an error message that Adobe Photoshop Organizer is nonresponding with the typical options of closing the program or wait for the program to respond. I've gone through multiple system reboots and application shut downs but continue to have the same error.

Any help out there?

Are you first selecting your images for the slideshow before opening the Slideshow editor? If not, what you are seeing is "normal." I believe that if you don't select the files first, the Slideshow is going through a process of using ALL the media in your Organizer grid and preparing them for the slideshow. You will then see a warning that there is a maximum of 250 files that can be used for a slideshow. This process can take several minutes. If you have already selected a large number of media for the slideshow, it can also go through a lengthy process. If this is the case, be patient. Yes, the program may show it is non-responsive, but it will eventually open in the Slideshow editor.

Try selecting a few images for the slideshow first. Then, click the slideshow button. The Slideshow editor should then open fairly quickly and you can then add media from the slideshow creator screen.
